The phrase that it used towards your companion - spouse when fear is induced at an extremely high level.
At certain times even the strongest male in a household can become overwhelmed with fear, causing him to refer to his or her spouse as "Dude, Dude, Dude". That phrase is only used when the spouse has the son outside while the fear is gradually rising throughout the Male figure as he realizes that he is also outmatched. Then the wife noticeably understands by being referred to as "dude", that this is no joking matter and that even the husband is at a loss for words.
