Fan Death

As in Konglish, meaning the literal act of dying due to lack of ventilation (especially in a car or restroom).

Koreans will leave windows open even in the dead of winter to avoid the ugly specter of fan death. Ironically, when they go through tunnels they close the windows, selecting the lesser of two evils.

The Korean government has statistics for the number of fan deaths that occur each year. Some theories posit that these deaths are actually the result of domestic violence, which the government denies.

Foreigner: "It's zero degrees, why are the windows open?"

Korean: "Fan death."

fan girls

a group of overly and frighteningly obsessive females who basically worship (a) certain celebrity(ies)- often males, mostly for their look(s).

They would do almost anything to get attention from their idol(s), especially if they are internet stars.

A fan girl can be easily recognised:
"OMG! I LOVE YOU. CAN I PLEASE HAVE YOUR BABIES?"

most common use of fan girls:
- to gain ridiculously high popularity on online websites. E.g. tumblarity tumblr; followers twitter, dailybooth; subscribers youtube; etc.

A: why is your tumblarity so high?
B: oh fan girls, they reblog and like all my posts.
