A synonym for balls to the wall or in it to win it, "in it for the dragons" can be applied to anything that one does with abandon or to the extreme. It also has the connotation that one is committed to this level of action for the long haul. Implied in the phrase is the understanding that the zeal with which one is pursuing their chosen activity is sufficient to bring extinct mythical creatures back to life.

Dude 1: "Let's kick this keg tonight!!"
Dude 2: "Fuck yeah!! I'm in it for the dragons!!!"

Dude 1: "Yo, I don't know if I can make it to the top of this mountain!!
Dude 2: "You Sally!! I thought you were in it for the dragons!!"
