this is a friendly way to greet someone, you can use it on anybody even the people you don't like, but they will never suspect that you don't like them because you said hello. It is a really good word to be fake to people

I think the best "greeting" word ever made in the English language. Can also be used as an expression of shock or absolute amazement.
1.Person A : Hello!
Person B : Hey!
2. Person A: Hello! What the heck are you doing with that lawn mower?
Person B : Hey!
