pontaffism

In a story, any line of dialogue or plot development intended to be humorous or dramatic that instead has a negative impact because it exhibits some or all of the following characteristics:

1) It is awkwardly phrased, excessively wordy and/or repetitive
2) It creates glaring plot holes and derails established characterization
3) It is highly self-indulgent and/or self-congratulatory, drawing attention to itself instead of fitting smoothly into the narrative

Pontaffisms differ from instances of narm in that narmy things are unintentionally amusing whereas pontaffisms are unintentionally painful, obnoxious and/or rage-inducing.

The games Sonic Colors and Sonic Lost World are filled with pontaffisms, such as "Baldy McNosehair", "Did somebody order an extra-large clobbering with everything?" and "The only thing that's getting conquered is your face!" These make the cutscenes almost unbearable for many people.

Portal syndrome

What happens when somebody plays the Valve game "Portal" for too long. The victim begins subconsciously imagining different aspects of the game in real life. For example, somebody with Portal Syndrome may mistake a large storage box for the Weighted Companion Cube, as as such, may begin screaming any number of things ranging from "You're alive!" to "I'm sorry I threw you into the fire!" As another example, somebody may begin thinking that they are trapped in the Aperture Science Computer Aided Enrichment Center.

Fred: Why is Lee hugging that box?

George: He has Portal Syndrome. He played Portal for seven hours straight last night.

A game that Valve just picked up all trademarks for when they dropped trade marks for half-life three. Sadly, it will never come out. Ever.

Portayez

Portayez is a loveable person that can help you or hurt you. He can help you achieve your goals or destroy them. He is mostly random never knowing what he will do next. On the outside he is weird and random but in the inside he has problems that he rarely opens up about. He gives you advice but it is mostly bad advice.

Portayez is kind of weird but he is also kind of cool.
