Blinded by nostalgia is typically a term referring to a player in a video game who knows that they enjoyed a certain newer update of a game, but act as if an older update of the game was better, because it was more "nostalgic", even though the update didn't bring really good stuff.

This can be mostly caused by lack of happiness in the present and depression. The name destructive comes from the fact it causes destruction of the future due to being demotivated to do anything for it.
