n. The wave of celebrity that occurs when a public figure is caught doing something shameful. Shfame is often exploited to make money. Alternately, fshame (rare).

After being indicted for fraud, Rod Blagojevich parlayed his shfame into a career in commercials.

The public's tolerance for shfame has its limits, as OJ found out when he attempted to publish a book on how he "might have" done it.
