Pescatarians are similar to vegetarians. The difference between pescatarians and vegetarians is that pescatarians eat fish and shellfish in addition to an otherwise vegetarian diet. Major vegetarian organizations, including The Vegetarian Society, does not recognize pescatarians as true vegetarians. Pescatarians believe that they can improve their health. Being pescatarian doesn't automatically make you healthier, in the same way that being a vegetarian doesn't equal instant health. There are a wide variety of snack and junk foods that do not contain animal products, such as potato chips, snack cakes, cookies and even ice creams. Pescatarians still have to be careful of their saturated fat intake even though they do not eat land animals or birds. According to Pescatarian Life, pescatarians may or may not eat dairy, like other types of vegetarians. This is a personal choice that each pescatarian makes based on his own values and opinions about the dairy system. It's not safe to assume that pescatarians eat dairy when preparing meals. It's always best to ask.
person 1: Do you eat meat?
Person 2: Not land animals or birds, but sea food.
Person 1: So you're a vegetarian who eats fish.
Person 2: NO! I am a pescatarian!
Person 1: Why don't you eat land animals or birds?
Person 2: I don't eat land animals or birds because of the hormones and steroids they are injected with, and because 90% of mass produced land and bird meat in the US are gmo and contain human dna.

Get the pesterance mug.One who excludes all flying and terrestrial animals from their diet. "Pesce" is the word for fish in Italian, and so a pescetarian is one who only consumes fish and other seafood as a meat source. They also eat any and all fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, and grains.
Many vegetarians consider them to be cheaters for eating the flesh of an animal, and get rather offended when pescetarians call themselves vegetarians.
The main reason they get offended is that vegetarians and vegans alike believe that no animal should be consumed by humans, and if flesh is consumed, they are no longer worthy to the grand title of vegan or vegetarian. Another reason they are appalled is the conditions of the animals that are commercially raised and sent to be processed in the slaughterhouse.
Pescetarians believe that catching and eating fish in the wild is perfectly okay. They believe it to be humane, sustainable, healthy, and overall very delicious. Fish are always preyed on by other bigger fish, who either chomp them alive and eat them, or swallow them whole. Pescetarians are saving fish from that fate, as well as getting a good source of healthy calories, protein, zinc, omega 3 fatty acids, thiamin, vitamins B6 and B12, riboflavin, selenium, and other essentials the human body needs to stay alive and fit.

"Sir, may I interest you in a steak, or a burger perhaps?"
"No, thank you I'm a pescetarian. I'll have the lime-marinaded grilled salmon with a side of steamed rice and garlic-sauteed portobello mushrooms.

Get the Pescetarian mug.A pescotarian is a vegetarian who also eats aquatic animal protein. Although pescotarianism is not a true vegetarian choice, this person probably does not consume dairy or eggs. The pescotarian diet is considered to be among the healthiest. Examples are the Japanese and Mediteranean diets. People from these cultures have historically had longer lifespans, more productive years, and fewer diseases. The lifespans of these cultures are beginning to shorten, however, as a result of the introduction of the Western diet. Peoples from these cultures, too, show a marked first generation decrease in health and lifespan when relocating to the United States. Pescotarians choose this lifestyle often because of health reasons, or in response to the way beef, pork and chicken are raised and slaghtered. Other varied reasons for adopting this diet exist, as well.

The moment that I realised how to live in a Pissarian Way was when I was running a marathon. Your body reached its own limitation and felt extremely exhausted. But, there is 10 miles to go!, so that state of mind, freedom from thinking, attitudes, conflicts, and anxiety, was the only way to keep the runner going till the end.
