Get the Emo "metal"mug. A mixture of Emo(simple plan, sugar cult, fallout boy) and hardcore or possibly Nu Metal(Minor threat, Lamb of God, Korn). some well known bands of this Genre are Killswitch Engage and Bleeding Through. Its basicaly a mix of the crybaby lyrics of emo, and the harsh yelling of hardcore.
examples of emo metal would be Killswitch Engage: Rose of sharyn

Get the emo metalmug. a 'darker' version of emo - much more second wave. That is to say, heavyier and more bass. Also known as Love Metal sometimes. No Accoustic guitares whiny lyrics. More screaming, heavier sounding tunes and random sounds (you cant call them notes really). Think Screamo meets metal.

Get the Emo "metal"mug. Emo "metal" is most commonly referred to as Screamo or Post-Hardcore.
It is a blend of guitar "riffs" usually written in a minor key to give a strong emotional feeling, heavy screaming vocals, and beautiful (sometimes harmonized) melodic vocal patterns, all intricately orchestrated to sound beautifully dark, usually melodic, and always catchy. Emo-Metal is what happens when metal bands get tired of being poor and want to make money. It is essentially metal's attempt at entering the mainstream.(and uranium hardly ever plays anything remotely close to emo-metal.)Bands, such as UNDERoath or Beloved(R.I.P), have perfected the style with others closely following their lead.
