(A-flay-zee) A sudden whirlwind of popularity or intrigue based on little substance or rumor, quickly dying out or suddenly becoming extinguished. Usually pertaining only to internet influenced media.

That guy was really popular on Facebook last month but that died down after people met him in person; it was just an afflaise.

afflatulence

A state of exhibiting an extraordinary amount of noxious gas, often triggered by consuming excessive methane-generating food (such as beans, garlic, broccoli, and cheese).

Derived from English word "afflatus" (creative impulse or inspiration), or a contraction of English words "affluent" and "flatulence."

A day after eating dozen bean-and-cheese tacos, John demonstrated his afflatulence during the staff meeting--driving most of his colleagues to rush out of the room.
