This is a derogatory term used by racists to subtly insult people of color. It stands for Dumb, Ass, Nigger/Nigga. Users of this word will try to continue to call someone this name even when they know thats not their official name.

They may try to hide their tracks by saying "You look like a DAN" or "You remind me of a DAN" or "DAN suits you as a nickname."
