To hype up John as well as the rest of your mates. You can also overuse the term and say it occasionally to invoke laughter amongst your mates.

Josh: Did you see that John dropped 14 points against the opposing basketball team?

Trevor: No way bro that was sick, I always knew John was a baller.
Josh: Lets get the whole team over here
*Team gathers*
Josh: Raises one fist in the air and screams at the top of his lungs Yeah John!
After Josh says it the rest of the team says Yeah John and everyone laughs
