Musical Geek

Somebody that is completely obsessed with Musicals and lives only for them. Listen to their iPod and it will be completely filled with 'Billy Elliot' , 'Wicked' or 'Les Misérables'.

Mention anything to do with Musicals and they will burst in to song and then continue to sing a medley of all of their favourite songs from their favourite West End Shows.

A typical Musical Geek would say:

Geek 1 : 'Oh my goodness, guess which Wicked song came on earlier?'

Geek 2 : 'I'm limited. Just look at me - I'm limited?'

Geek 1 : 'And just look at you, you can do all that I couldn't do, Glinda'

Power Lick (Music)

A short musical phrase (sometimes called the major blues scale) used in jazz, country and free improvisation. It is constructed using the following degrees of the scale:
1 2 b3 3 5 6 8
and is swung holding the first note for a full beat.

I'm going to play so many power licks in tonight's gig; it's gonna make me feel really good!

Power Lick (Music) can be used in any musical setting.

Music Major

A student majoring in music is often questioned on their sanity due to the intense level of work required and the crap pay rates of just about any future job available. Despite often being intelligent, this person willingly locks him or herself into a practice room for hours every week, becoming a virtual slave. Furthermore, additional funds are spent by acquiring a teacher in his or her field of study. If ever you need a psychotic peer to explain to you the circle of fifths, this person will not be your target because he or she will look at you strangely and wonder why you do not know such an elementary concept.

Tom: Hey Bill, ya wanna catch a movie tonight?
Bill: Sorry best friend Tom, I've got rehearsal.

Sonny: Hey Bill, ya wanna study for that chem test tomorrow with me?
Bill: Chem test? psh... I don't study for superfluous classes! I've got rehearsal!

Sabrina: Hey Bill, I was wondering if you had plans this weekend? *gives Bill a sultry look*
Bill: Sorry Sabrina, love of my life, I've got rehearsal, but if it makes you feel any better I will sing my Mozart aria for you!

Sabrina: ....uh
Bill: ...I guess she didn't know I'm a Music Major.

wicked the musical

a highly popular broadway musical that has productions around the world. it is counted as one of the best musicals in the world (which is well deserved). this musical tells the story of the witches of oz before dorothy arrived (see the wizard of oz if your unsure). i have heard of some people hateing it but then again, you have to have an appreciacion for music and musicals.

three people are walking out of the theater
person 1: wicked was great hey?
person 2: yeah! it was epic!
person 3: how can you like it! i hated it!
person 1: well YOU dont have an apreciation for music.
person 2: good bye.
*person 1 & 2 walk out.*
person 3: i dont get them

as you can see, wicked the musical is an epic musical.

Musicals

A great thing on this good green earth. One of the most entertaining enjoyable things to watch or be apart of. They are very wonderful no matter what there about. You could write a musical about potatoes and watch it and enjoy it. I myself watched a musical about a white boy gang and a Mexican gang that ballet danced in Brooklyn. I loved it

Musicals are my forth favorite thing in the universe!
