Trojan horse text

A text that lulls someone with read receipts into a false sense of security with the iMessage preview thinking they can safely assume what the rest says, but the second half of the text is the real message.

My friend takes FOREVER to reply unless I send a Trojan horse text:

“I need to tell you something. Ever since the day I first met you, I have always loved how our friendship has been strictly platonic. Can you give me a ride to the airport tomorrow?”

Drunk Text Rule

If at any point when you are intoxicated and feel the overwhelming urge to text anyone else, text a bro and he (and in very few cases she) will play along with any absurd trains of thought you might have while at the same time preventing you from doing anything too stupid... Like drunk texting.

Jack: You partying tonight?
Brandon: No, I have class in the morning.
Jack: May I invoke the Drunk Text Rule?
Brandon: I'll allow it.

Text-o-motive

1. A "Texto-motive" is what a "Chain texter" drives to and from here and there. They THINK it is just another mobile device to be used to get a signal for texting. It is really a car, a truck, an SUV, a Semi, a Humvee, whatever... But they are so much of a text addict that they think of it as only another place to text.

2. "Text-o-mobiles" are the equivalent to a text-o-motive vehicle.

1. Man! If you paid as much attention to your driving as you do to your darn phone, your points wouldnt cost you so much per car insurance payment, b/c you wouldnt have so many accidents - you "Text addict'!

2. The lady in the left lane sat there FOREVER when there was a green arrow, no matter how much people were honking at her; she thought she owned a "Text-o-motive", or something. How annoying! My wife wanted to get out and give her a proper beat down!

The act of forgetting the last text you sent to someone, making their response seem completely random.

Julie: I can't believe he would do something like that!
Courtney: I know! It was totally rude.
Julie: Sorry, what was rude, I totally have short-term texting.

Repetitive text bombardment

To send more than one message to a person before they have a chance to reply, making the sender seem needy. The sender often doesn't understand that the receiver probably cant reply because they cant get to their phone at the moment, so repetitive messaging is pointless.

When I switched on my phone I had five messages from Sam. Serious repetitive text bombardment.
