the internets

An intentional mangling of (the) internet used for ironic effect as a humorous reference to the large segment of the population that remains clueless about technology. Now a popular malapropism, "the internets" meme exploded after the second televised Bush-Kerry debate held prior to the 2004 Presidential election. Blogs and Television, especially The Daily Show, bear much of the responsibility for the initial propagation of "the internets" as it is currently used.
When asked about the seeming inevitibility of a draft, the President replied, "I hear there's rumors on the Internets (sic) that we're going to have a draft..."

INTP

The personality type other types strive to be. INTPs are gracious, intelligent (many are certified geniuses), humble, and fashion conscious. INTPs often find deep connections with "underground" music, as anything mainstream is to be shunned by any self-respecting human. The terms 'nerd' and 'dork' are often affectionately used to jokingly display friendship with an INTP. While they may lack in the love department, they certainly do not lack in the love making department.
I was making love to my dorky INTP significant other last night and I totally had the biggest orgasm of my life.

International Monetary Fund

(ECONOMICS) international bank created after World War 2 to coordinate currency stabilization. Main policy tool consists of lending money to central bank of countries facing a liquidity crisis.

In some cases, as when a member government is insolvent, the IMF will impose a structural adjustment program (SAP) requiring the government to jettison programs it has to serve the poor. For this reason, the IMF is often harshly criticized.
It is often said that the International Monetary Fund makes economic crises worse by imposing the same austerity program everywhere, thereby further reducing a member state's ability to pay its sovereign debt.

(Another way of putting this is that the IMF's policies are pro-cyclical

Mad On The Internet

When someone gets upset on the internet, they are "mad on the internet." This is similar to being mad in real life, but never justifiable, and will always make one look particularly bad or stupid.
People are always getting mad on the internet at me just because I'm never wrong and know how to keep my cool.

ICR, Introspections Costa Rica

A "Transitional Living Program" based on bureaucratic rules, arbitrary grades, and false promises. At ICR, there are a few key phrases one must understand in order to be successful here.

See if you can follow this easy-to-read translation of staff's favorite phrases and what they actually mean!

"I've been looking into it"---I have not been looking it.

"I'm working very hard on it"--I thought about working on it, once, but let the thought pass.

"We have had budget cuts"--The founder of the program decided to increase his own salary again, siphoning the money from the program's account (which the students pay for)

"We have to walk to the gym today"--The founder of the program got drunk and passed out in the van somewhere far away, rendering it useless for transporting the group.

"It's not about THEM, it's about YOU!"--I do not know what to tell you, but I read somewhere that telling you this will be helpful.
If a student at ICR, Introspections Costa Rica, says, "The overwhelming amounts of negativity and complaining from the other students are beginning to effect my attitude," (s)he will be told, "It's not about THEM, it's about YOU!"

If a student says, "I've been asking you daily for two weeks to get this issue solved," (s)he will be told, "I'm working on it."

If a student says "You told me two weeks ago you had this figured out," s(he) will be told, "I've been looking into it."
