Karen

A meta-analysis of 76 definitions of ‘Karen’ on Urban Dictionary reveals that only approximately 5% of the defining characteristics have a Karen being ‘racist’. The overwhelmingly definitive characteristics of the stereotype are, in order: that she wishes to speak to the manager (with a subset threatening to call the police) 28.25%; that she has kids, more than one, is overley protective and always takes them after the divorce 22.03%; that she has a swept, layered bob hairdo 11.06%; and that she is white and middle aged, both 10.73%.
Her attitudes to masks, vaccines, minorities and her own entitlement put together constitute less than 17% of the character of a Karen.
These facts have apparently presented no barrier to a cynical appropriation of this stereotype and the projection onto it of the fanciful notion that America is a fundamentally racist society, as portrayed in the recently released movie ‘Karen’. So few people will take the time to familiarise with the etymology of newly coined words that we are on the brink of millions of Americans being led dumbly by this movie to the conclusion that a Karen is a racist, illustrating that a politicised Hollywood and Madison avenue are the graveyards of natural language.
Ben Shapiro: 'Alrighty folks so I came across a trailer for a brand new movie titled 'Karen'.'
Me: 'Horse's bolted Ben’

Karen

In light of the current insta trend, it’s time to show our non-boomer Karen friends some love.

The K in Karen stands for kind and kute. TLC may not be her specialty but she can definitely be a sweetie when the time is right. She gives herself too little credit for her diligence and beauty. Her sense of style ranges from rocking an mtv T-shirt to putting you in awe with a fashionable fit. If you want a friend who’s accommodating and willing to go on different adventures with you, it’s none other than Karen.

People may not think she’s very opinionated but she sure has her own judgements. The thing that sets her apart is her open-mindedness, compassion, and the ability to see things from different perspective. She may be too much of a coward to call the manager or other people out on their bs but she won’t shy away from telling you her true thoughts if you guys are close enough. All the dumb things she does or says can surely make you laugh. But really her presence alone can already put a smile on your face because she’s just THAT cute.

Only downside is that she probably enjoys lavender oil as much as the boomer Karens. Warning: Can get snappy when she’s annoyed. All in all, still a friend I’d recommend.
Jenny: Hey look that’s Karen! She’s amazing and she’s my best friend!

Karen

It describes a kind of person who thinks they're entitled to do or say whatever they want, even if it is at the expense of others, and they think they should get away with it. They will throw tantrums when they have to follow the rules or when things don't go their way. They are willing to put their own happiness and comfort over other people's They can be of any race, religion, political ideology, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, age, or economic class.

They are typically racist, though not always. They're notorious for screaming at employees for extremely petty reasons. This often happens at grocery stores (especially those that require a face mask during a pandemic, God forbid!), restaurants, airports/airplanes, schools, the park, and so on.

If a business has a certain rule that is meant to keep customers and employees safe, they will claim that it's not fair to them and that it takes away their freedom. They go on about how much they love "freedom" but will get mad when someone else uses their freedom to do something that they personally don't like. They only want "freedom" for themselves so that they have the "right" to be a nuisance.
Scenario one:

Person 3: "This lady wants to cut in front of the line to vote."
Person 4: "Don't let that Karen cut in line."
Person 5: "HEY! GET IN THE BACK OF THE LINE, KAREN!"

Scenario two:

Karen: "Hey I noticed you're wearing a mask."
Person 6: "Yeah, so?"
Karen: "You know that you don't have to wear a mask here anymore, right? They stopped having mandates."
Person 6: "Yes, I knew about it."
Karen: "So, then why are you wearing a mask?"
Person 6: "Because I think it's a better choice, even if there are no mandates anymore."
Karen: "You have free will, you know. So take it off."
Person 6: "B-but I don't want to-"
Karen: "TAKE OFF YOUR MASK NOW. BE FREE, YOU PEASANT."
Person 6: "If you want me to be 'free', then you'd let me cover my face and leave me alone."
Karen: *Rips the mask off*
Person 6: "LEAVE ME ALONE KAREN!"
Karen: "I'm not a Karen, you are because you put safety over other people's freedom."
Person 6: "Who's freedom am I jeopardizing? I'm the one choosing if for myself. You're the one not letting me be free to wear a mask, after saying I could choose."
Karen: "Yeah, because I thought you'd CHOOSE to do things my way by not wearing a mask. Oh no, that was too honest-"
