Backstage Boyfriend

A term coined among theater kids, a backstage boyfriend is the male counterpart in a (sometimes romantic) relationship between two actors or crew members that goes on strictly during production time. The backstage boyfriend is often seen alongside his female counterpart during rehearsals, intermissions, and cast parties; attached at the hip. This kind of relationship usually ends after the show closes and may resume during the next. The rest of the cast and crew can see that there is something going on between the two, but they often strictly deny it.

Friend 1: dude, what is going on with those two? Are they together or something?

Friend 2: Nah, that’s just her backstage boyfriend. It’s nothing serious.

Through it all he's been at my side. Making me want to better myself and love myself. Helping me find peace in the world and be able to love again. Through it all, he's the only person who I can say I truly love. Through thick and thin, better or for worse. He's always seen the good in me. Even when I was at the lowest points of my life he saw the good in me and loved me for it. Never once did I think I'd find someone as sweet as him. Someone who loves unconditionally, and cares for me and not physically appearance. He's the sweetest guy in the world. The best of men, and the best of people. The only person I want to spend my life with.
