The term “Battle rap” has been around since the 80’s and “Freestyle battle” has been around since the 90’s. There are two types of Battle raps. A diss and a reply. A diss is attacking a person and a reply is a response to the attack. Sometimes the artist would hijack the person beats he is dissing to make it personal.
