emo is a state of mind. NOT a fashion style, or a genre of music, if these are the things you are referring to, you might like to select a different term such as, "goth" or "scene". when a person is emo it means they cut their self usually to relieve pain.

The modern term for goth. Basically white kids from upper middle class homes that like to dress like vampires and act depressed. The male emos are usually closeted drag queens that want to wear makeup without being called "fags."

Father-"Damn, those kids are really goth."

Son-"Dad! It's not goth anymore. It's called emo now! Duh!"

First of all, everyone who wrote that Emo was a type of punk is pissing me off. Emos ARENT metal, punk or hardcore. Emos bands lyrics are about suffer not about power. I think emofags are tired to be call homosexual, fags, pussies and all so they try to develop their styles in something more respected. But sorry guys is doesnt work. STOP TO STOLE OUR MUSICC
