Get the throw rocksmug. Japanese Rock. Most of the lyrics in this genre is very poetic (sometimes doesn't make sense, but you'll get it if you read the lyrics with thought).
Person who doesn't understand J-Rock: They suck because they sound awful and they steal stuff from American Rock.
Me: You might as well as say that for today's bands in the US as well. Not all American and Japanese rock is bad, you just have to get in depth with the lyrics.

Get the Punk Rockmug. A style of music that went out in the early 1990s. Although nu-metal could be considered a new form of cock rock, it is generally bands like Poison, Winger, at al.
Stop listening to that shitty, sexist, corporate, drug-fueled cock rock and put this Dead Kennedys CD on instead!

Get the HUNDRED ROCKmug. A rock movement that originated around Essex in England, from which many excellent performers got their start. The pub rock movement was a creative outburst that grew in reaction to the staid, creative wasteland of progressive pop culture, with its lengthy guitar/drum solos and tired drug culture/hippie imagery. It brought rock and roll back to having fun, yet didn't contain the pretentiousness of the later punk rock movmenet. Joe Strummer, Graham Parker, Wreckless Eric, Brinsley Schwarz, Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds, Elvis Costello and others all came out of the "pub rock" scene, some redefining themselves later for commercial reasons or due to artistic growth.
