The act of logging into another computer from a remote location, so that the user appears to be a ghost.

The guys down in IT are ghosting to see if they can find the problem.

Started on MLPForums, this refers to posting in a topic before ghostfacekiller39 that speaks badly of the character Rarity from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. ghostfacekiller39 is perhaps the most dedicated Rarity fan on the forums, and he's always quick to defend her when the need arises.

Sneaking up on someone and scaring the shit out of them; also, mysteriously appearing at a certain point without other people knowing how you got there.

"There has been a lot of ghosting going on this house lately and it needs to fucking stop."

ghostin'

A term used in reference to the behavior of an individual that is in an internet chat room but they're not talking to anyone in the room. It is considered rude netiquette and usually upsets the other people in the chatroom. Could also be called "haunting".

Casper won't talk to any of us in the chat room. I guess she is ghostin'.

Rain Ghosting

Walking or standing really close to someone you don't know who has an umbrella when its raining and you don't have one. Done in a casual way to piggy back on their umbrella without them noticing that's what you're doing.

"My friend forgot his umbrella today and i noticed him rain ghosting different people all day to keep from getting wet."
