The 'Modern Woman' has a job, not entry level, has done very well for herself and maintains or does not maintain a family. In the 1950's when the term first came to use, it was also a sexual saying. A modern woman can have as many romantic interests as she sees fit. The modern woman pursues affairs and is equal to the man when it comes to sexual partners. Marking the end of the 'nice girl era' in which women were only suppose to have one sexual partner as opposed to men, who could pursue interests of a sexual nature.

Get the modern rockmug. Something so twisted and odd that it has to change every year. Some things are deemed 'in style', and the populous instinctly follows like a mindless herd, no matter how bizzare or uncomfortable it may be. It's as if they have no sense of individuality anymore.
I see people in schools in my town, even children at the age of 8 are getting into this, wearing heels and shutter-shades, their daily attire seems like a costume, and here I am, a fellow female, in baggy jeans, sneakers and a hoodie. Their clothing seems so uncomfortable. Tight jeans and heels, or just leotards and a tee shirt. And it gets worse each year. Is this what our modern culture is coming to? And who exactly says that this stuff is in? Is there a department of "In" somwhere in the world? The Bureau of In, located in INdianapolis, INdiana? (No offense to you lot.)
I've ranted long enough.
Summed up, 80's fashion is back in buisness (shudder).

Get the modern hippiemug. Modern Custom is a term that was created to blanket over all of the diverse custom rides that normally come out to the younger generation shows. There are many different styles that Modern Custom blankets like lowriders, trucks, mini trucks, custom compacts, tuners, SUVs and there are even modern inspired classics, rats and worn & torn that appear at Modern Custom shows. Each one of these automotive styles has its own scene and shows, but they will all come together at a Modern Custom show and showoff their custom rides together. These shows were created mainly in the 80s (some earlier on the West Coast) when younger clubs were tired of entering their local hot rod shows and having 1 class for mini trucks and one class for compacts, sometimes split in mild or wild or foreign and domestic. Clubs took charge and started putting together their own shows and had broken down classes for all styles of Modern Custom rides. It was a great time in automotive history that the old school Modern Custom guys remember because most of them helped get it going. Its not as old as hot rodding, lowriding or vannin' but it has its place in history and will continue to be a strong force in the custom automotive industry. The term "Modern Custom" was created by Mike, one of the owners of DropJaw, back in '02.
