1)Country and blues music for the punk generation

2) Mature artistry that is overlooked by people who prefer misogynic music like gangsta rap, pop-rap, hardcore rap, most hard rock, certain R&B, and pop that only cares about sex

1)Emo is considered country and blues for the punk generation because it talks about the same things country and blues talk about--your lover leaving you and you think you can't go on without them-- yet it gets dissed while country and blues don't. What is wrong with this picture?

2) Anybody who claims emo is overwrought hasn't truely listened to it and are just hating on it because they're told it's cool to not express your emotions.

Usualy a prep that feels like they need more attention so they make themself more noticable(aka cutting wrists and wearing different clothing) and talk about how much they hate themselves.


Also have destroyed all other styles that are dark in some way.

Emo

emo just means emotional. nothing more so don't take it as that. Some people take it as "cutting, crying, being there own person". more people who think that "emo" means that are just wanting to be noticed or try to be cool in there own way. some people just make up stupid stuff about it and think that it will get them what they want and more "emo" friends. PEOPLE, FOR CHRISTS SAKE!!! IT JUST MEANS EMOTIONAL mentally or physicly

Jack:oh man, philip you are so emo! will you be my new friend?
Philip: (mental note) "hmm, ii have finally got another friend. good thing i painted on these cool red cut lines!!!"(real time) um, i guess we can be friends and listen to depressing music :(.


now for what it really means!
Jack: dude, why are you crying?
Philip:My girlfriend dumped me
Jack: dude, im sorry, that sucks
Philip: *crying* im sorry for being so emo over it.

Emo

All emos are fake, even those that claim to be a true emo, i highly doubt you were born that way. I bet one day you showed up dressed like an emo, or if not all at once, it happned, the point is, there was a time you didnt dress like that or assosciate with that, therefore, all emos are fake,everyone that decided to go emo after you is a poser in your mind.

(some kid) I really need to fit into something, hm, emo, i can do that, im not bi-polar but that dosent really matter, also, everyone that becomes emo after me is a poser.

emo

a term to describe weird kids who are more normal than they think but want to pretend they are different from the norm.
however, the display of being emo is very pop culture in dress and music and goes against what most emo's think.
They think they are EMOtionally disturbed!

i want to be an emo to seperate myself from others (but do not realize it is a trend)
