popcorn moment

One of those precious moments in life that can only be fully enjoyed with a bag of popcorn. Most of the times these occur when two people are arguing RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.

1. Guy #1: Fuck you man, I broke up with her just last week and you're already in love with her?!
Guy #2: Hell yeah, if its love, its love. You and your fuckin chode need to man up and get over it!
Guy #1: SHIT! She told you I've got a chode?!?!
Guy #2: Nope, your mom did!
Guy #1's mom: Sorry hun..
Guy #1: SHIT!
Bystander: (thinking to self) Damn, what a popcorn moment...

2. On facebook, someone's relationship status changes to single. If the separated lovers start arguing on that status, whatever the fuck they say = a popcorn moment.

"Random Hot Girl is now single."
Random Hot Girl's ex: What the fuck is this shittttt?
Random Hot Girl: I'm done with you, fuck off of my wall!
Random Hot Girl's ex: Whoa babeee, I <3 you!
Random Hot Girl: Sucks ass, cuz I don't love you back bitch!
Random Hot Girl's ex: I knew this was gonna happen, thats why I got alllll of our sexy times on tape! Suck it!!!
Random guy: *POPCORN MOMENT*! OH SHIT, LEMME GET THEM VIDS!

When the public announcement of the proof of a famous unsolved problem on π turned out to be short-lived, because the result was later found to contain grave errors.

Mathematicians worldwide were excited to hear that the number (π + e) has been proved to be transcendental (i.e., its value can’t be the root of an algebraic equation with rational coefficients), but the news was nothing but a pi moment.

Plainview Moment

A "Plainview moment" is an acute and fleeting sensation of estrangement from one's community characterized by feelings of alienation and contempt for all people. Typically this phenomenon is triggered by profound disappointment with unmet expectations. An individual experiencing a Plainview moment may appear inexplicably frustrated or enraged. The Plainview moment is temporary, lasting as briefly as a few minutes or until the source of the frustration has been removed, but the intensity of the emotions experienced during these episodes can make stricken individuals extremely unpleasant or even dangerous to be around.

Named for Daniel Plainview, the fictional self-made oil tycoon and misanthropic main character played by Daniel Day-Lewis in "There Will Be Blood."

"I experienced a Plainview moment today when I went to the hardware store to purchase some lumber, and after one incompetent employee erroneously claimed they didn't carry the materials I needed, a second incompetent employee sent me to the wrong part of the warehouse to pick the materials up."
