Get the California Clenchermug. A university campus in the little town of California, Pennsylvania, originally called California University of Pennsylvania. It will always be known by its former name by locals and alumni who graduated under the former name. The new name is dumb and boring, and no one likes “PennWest” as a school name. The former name was also nicknamed “Cal U”, as a shorter way of saying California University. #notmyalmamater is what a lot of students use to refer to this school who attended and graduated before the ridiculous name change. This school is situated along the Monongahela River, about 27 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, PA. Therefore, this school also goes by a nickname of “Harvard on the Mon”.
