Player

A player is a male or female who talks to more than one person in their life. There can be love there, but the player never lets it get serious. Once they get in a relationship, the player must retire their player card because cheating is shitty. A TRUE player keeps things 100 with open communication: not hiding the fact that they speak to more than one person. The common misconception is a player is a jerk, because the player messes with people's feelings. A true player can be respectful towards people as long as he/she is being honest about the fact that they're not ready for a relationship. Not all people are ok with this so the player needs to make intentions clear before he/she accidentally leads the person on.

Paycheck Player

An athlete, with a guaranteed contract, whose talent level has severely declined but is still on their team's active roster because cutting them would impact the team's salary cap more than retaining them would. Paycheck players often check out during games and don't pull their full effort into their performance knowing that they're only viewed as dead weight for their team by fans and management. They nonetheless show up and put in minimal effort to keep up appearances and continue to get overpaid.

At this point in his career, Kirk Cousins is nothing more than a paycheck player for the Minnesota Vikings at quarterback.

A term used in a NC pool tournament to describe participants who fail to advance to at least the Best 16. These players are seen as the “average” competitors who don’t make it to the higher stages of the competition.

1. Those normie players are truly envious of the Best 16, especially of the ones they underestimated as underdogs.
2. The Best 16 will battle it out tomorrow, while the normie players can watch and learn.
