band shirts, music composed of mostly techno and incoherent lyrics, dark mostly all black clothing, different hairstyles but none representing natural hair, i.e. dyed, cut, etc. and of course tattoos and piercings galore.

Dude, see that kid in the black shirt, black jeans, black converse, black hoodie with the lip ring and the dyed hair? -Yeah, total Emo.

Emo

Emo is a state of mind, or the modern term for depressed. What people say is emo, long hair, guyliner, converse, raccoon eyes, ect. is all called scene. Scene people are bubbly but deep. Emo on the other hand, is where something in ones life seems to have scarred them. They beleive there is no-one to run to, so they bottle stuff up, and or use self harm.

Scene kid: "YAAY! I bought a new Tu-tu and some new liquid eyeliner! VICTORY IS MINE"

Emo kid: "There is that side of me where im sad...but happy enough to fake being happy...then there are those days where i cant even bring myself to be happy"

Usually jealous teens who cut themselves and complain about how shitty their life is, when really, all they want is attention. People who cant fit in with the outgoing kids and despise preps. Most of them have fun by getting high or drunk because they dont know how to do anything else with their lives. These kids usually cloth themselves in black and ripped up skinny jeans and cake there eyes with black liner. Do not ever befriend an emo for they will do nothing but bring down your mood and drag you with them through their shitty lives.

What the hell is that sad thing?
