An extremely personal (and often extremely time consuming) body of work--usually of the creative variety and often extensive/sprawling in its execution--which was intended purely for personal edification, with no apparent intention of the work in-question ever being shared with anyone in any meaningful way.
The choices, language, idioms, imagery and/or motifs employed are often so deeply personal to the original creator that they have little if any coherent meaning to any other viewer, who is/are likely to only gain access to the work itself after the creator has died or gone missing.

My friend has been trying their hand at automatic writing lately. I snuck a peak when they weren't looking, and it was completely dargeresque. not a single sentence made any sense to me, but my friend really seemed to be getting a lot out of it in spite of that.

From Albania, the monster fed on babies since 1912, the year Albania was established as an independent country. The monster is none to eat newborn babies from the day it was born till two months after.
We noticed it… So fast, and so quiet… Our baby, just born last week was snatched right out of our hands, and thrown right in to a pit of fire… THE DARGËN KILLED OUR BABY!
