Gearcide

The act of killing ones self via the use of gears. A term created by the online gaming community when players became frustrated by difficult levels in games, specifically the 1989 Batman: The Video Game for the NES. Players would reach the final level of the game (Batcave Clock Tower) which consisted of many gears and cogs. After reaching the end of the level they would be faced with two consecutive boss fights. In the event of death they'd be forced to replay the entire level once again and often in frustration the player would jump into the metal gears killing themselves.

The only decent M-rated game that has yet to be flooded by the high-pitched, trash talking, unbearable gaming kids of Xbox Live. The most possible cause is the fact that it is a very vulger game in a good way with large amounts of blood and exploding heads.
