Much like the action to "half ass" the term gingerpopping is used when someone is only giving half of their overall potential/effort. It is often used as a derogatory term in order to motivate someone.

That kid was gingerpopping on his snowboard all day long!

We all know he can throw mad tricks on the snowboard but it seems as though he has been gingerpopping lately.
