To back out of something you said you were going to do. No it doesn't mean backdown from a challenge or someone else that makes no sense. Backdown means to say no to something back out means you say u were gonna do something but then u dont do it. :/

punked out (synonym: herbed): Tyler and Kevin were gonna fight at the park after school but Tyler punked out and went home instead.

Reversed coming out

When you have already come out as a certain sexuality/gender but your sexuality/gender has changed, and therefore you come out reversed.

Hey, i know I said I’m gay but now I think i’m bisexual so I’m reversed coming out to you.

I thought I was pansexual all this time, turns out I’m actually omnisexual. This is my reversed coming out.

Jamie came out as gay to their family the other day.

I'm thinking about coming out as bisexual.
