Birthday inflation

Instead of celebrating a birthday for one day, it grows to a several days or a week due to the following: family celebration, party with friends, romantic dinner, cupcakes at school. This expansion of time to celebrate is birthday inflation

I thought we could do something this weekend, but due to the wife's birthday inflation I'm busy until next Thursday.

Like Inflation

Usually occurring on social media sites and forum sites, it occurs when members on the website, known as Like Inflators, constantly hit the like button on every post they see. They usually do not hold a regard to what the post is, so you might see the most idiotic, white knight-ish and/or social justice warrior like post get one like.
This decreases the value of likes on a website, as you can easily get a ton of likes from a Like Inflator, or a ton more of them if there are multiple ones on the website

The phenomenon occurring on highways, with three or more lanes, in which slower-moving vehicles move out of the right lane, thereby disrupting traffic flow in what should be faster-moving lanes.

That guy is driving ten miles below the speed limit, but with lane inflation on this three-lane highway he is holding up traffic in the middle lane!
