The term “Stan” was derived from the 2000 hit song by the same name created by rapper Eminem. Stan refers to an overly obsessive fan of something, whether is be a YouTuber, musical artist, etc.

well, stan is a person who literally does not give a shit no matter what. stan is a really cool person and for some reason all of the people named stan have a super deep voice. why do you sound like a pop tube in the morning?

stan cares a little bit, but not too much. stan is going through some shit n doesn't really notice. stan is chronically online but in a "oh i stay up until 8am every morning playing games lol" way. stan.

just lame idolatry that needs to dissipate soon or the implications for pop music will be something substantially worse than ironic. I’d like to add that I don’t think Eminem deserves to have inadvertently coined the unfortunate term “stan,” but that would be a stan Eminem thing to say, and, let’s face it, I have been a stan, a shameful thing to admit, but at least not a “swift or”! despite admittedly liking much of the over-comparatively unduly hyped, bland-ish pop star’s (redundant?) “music.”
