a different form of the insult "peckerhead" which is similar to the word "dickhead." To call someone a peckerbrain would be to say that they are not very intelligent and its use sometimes denotes anger.

small thinking, knit picker, attention to tiny details (but not in a good way), term used years ago, focused on small unimportant flaws, picks out all tiny character flaws in others, does not look at the broader picture and consequences, focuses on small incidentals, whiney, onary about each small aspect of just about anything (always in a negative way)

(lets say Sally, kept bringing up old small bothersome things that Joe does -- so we would say Sally, don't be so pickeyune.
