Building material used to create a sturdy frame when illegally expanding a comically small apartment. Typically covered in eco-friendly wood veneers and secured to the existing apartment building with screws borrowed from the owner’s aunt.

Little John removed the existing windows and welded a frame with galvanized square steel to extend the space outward.
