Turn-key

A derogatory name for a prison officer (screw, kanga etc) used by inmates in U.K Jails and prisons (predominantly used in Scotland)

Meant to imply they are nothing more than key turners, since they spend many hours unlocking and locking cell doors.

Turn Cow

General term for any small object, action figure, or toy, that is passed from person to person while playing a board game. When a person possesses the Turn Cow then it is their turn, when their turn is complete they then pass the Turn Cow onto the next player. The use of a Turn Cow may help players avoid missing their turn and will help them to keep track of whose turn is next.
After returning from a snack break while playing Monopoly, we had forgotten whose turn it was, so we checked to see who had the Turn Cow. The Turn Cow was sitting in front Jimmy's seat so we knew that it was his turn.
