Kompa Indirèk is a modern style of the Haitian Compas Direct (Haitian Créole Konpa Dirèk), “the percussion-heavy, rhythmic dance music“ of Haiti that emphasizes musical instruments and features very little or no singing with elements of Sook, KomPop, Compas and Blues, Frenglish R&B and Kompa-Forró.

The physical typical musical instruments are rarely used and are replaced to smaller outfits featuring the use of electronic music technology, such as Drums kits, Electric Bass, Keybass/ Electric Guitars, Keytars, Synthesiser, samplers, electronic percussion, backing track, Sequencers, Drum Machine, Loops, Sound effects, EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument, Keytar, Keybass, MIDI, Drum machines, Melody, Personal computers and Digital Audio Workstations (DAW).

Other elements which are played by electromechanical musical instruments include:
One soukous-like sinuous twining lead guitar and the other one is a trebly rhythm guitars and the pulsing repeated melodic basslines.

Some common structures and forms in Kompa Indirèk instrumentals are:

Intro Hook / Rhythm Hook / Drop Chorus / Rhythm Hook / Drop Chorus / Background Instrumental Hook / Drop Chorus / Outro Hook.

Any Music listeners who only enjoyed listening to Compas Direct or Zouk will also enjoy Kompa Indirèk
