The impression left over from the continued impact from a
blunt ended cylindrical
shaft as it repeatedly attempts to
force open and find passage through what was originally a seam created by two planes meeting along a smooth line. The "Gash" as it is know has the same volume and surface area as the offending object. There has been a common misconception that the opening is somehow staring attentively when, however the
gape really refers to the inability of the gash to reduce back to its original form. Hence the continuous gargantuan nature it now displays.
