Friend Zone

When someone wishes to pursue a romantic/sexual relationship with a friend, but the one who is being pursued keeps them as a friend.
It is also usually used as an excuse by shallow men who feel entitled to a relationship with the said friend just because they've been nice to them. It is also described by them as, "An inescapable hell."
Some women have been put in the friend-zone, but it's fairly rare.

"I told her I wanted to be her boyfriend, but then she put me in the friend zone. I wasted so much time on her!"
