Originating in Breezy Point, a small beach town on the Rockaway peninsula, shouting "four!" is funny among local teens throughout Rockaway and certain parts of Brooklyn after a Breezy born girl was fingered with four fingers. Essentially, shouting this is making fun of the fact that a guy would use four fingers in the first place, although many do not know the actual origins of the joke, simply throwing up four fingers in a pic and just assuming thats its funny. The joke has become so popular, that at the time 4:44 people start shouting "four!"

"Yo what time is it?"
"Four forty four!"

"Dude lets take a pic."
"Don't forget to throw up the four."
