This syndrome hammers in the absolute “need” for an s/o, so much that the subject finds it even more difficult to, ahem, *obtain* one, due to its side effects of obsessive behavioral patterns.
Usually the subject may grow out of this philosophy and focus on bettering themselves rather than just getting a date with someone.
