It has been said that the only thing worst than a conformist is the one who conforms to nonconformist standards. In essence, that is what has become of the goth subculture. Originally a sharp reaction to preps and jocks, the goth standard has melted down into a standard that cannot be deviated from. Modern day goths follow the same routine and habits: They listen to metal and death metal music, such as Slipknot and Led Zeppelin; they dress in nothing but black; they wear clothing from the unusual (fishnet) to the bizzare (high-top black leather boots); they have many piercings on their body, including (but not limited to) the eyebrows, tongue, belly-button, and lips; they shop at Hot Topic; they describe themselves as 'twisted' or 'dark'. There are more examples I can think of, but by now, you should have a clear mental picture of what a goth is. We all know a goth; (s)he sticks out like a sore thumb. The goth subculture is burning itself up, because it was originally a reaction to conformism. Now, it has simply creatly a new standard to conform to.

cyber goth

Basically, a goth who wears bright uv details as well as the usual black. However would never be caught dead wearing a band hoodie.

Usually either very tall or short, so will wear massive boots to make them selfs look either REALLY tall or just a bit smaller than everyone else.

Is also usually more arrogant than normal goths, ie will only talk to you if you like anything really dark or horrible, or like put fuck loads of drugs down your throught every weekend.

note: can also be pronounced cyber-gaff just for a laff.

people that are gothic probably dont consider themselves gothic and u dont know what ur talking about gothic is a style and there are soo many styles but no1 thinks ther soo wierd but gothic is just so wierd to all off u you dont kno what ur talking about most of my friends are gothic and im not and ther really funny and they have alot of confidence and u dont know what ur talking about. preps arnt pionted out because they listen to jesse mcartny and pop they wear little sweaters and gansters listen to Jay-Z and wear rocawear and ecko no1 thinks there so wierd and not all gothics slit there wrist and say there life sucks some do because there dad abuses them or some thinggansters slit there wrist not as many because black is worn by people that are sad sometimes but not always and just because someone considers them selves gothic doesnt mean they are

(n) A group of people who feel comfortable within each others company. There is no specific thing that defines what you need to do or be to fit into the goth scene (except of course the implied black clothing). People in the goth scene all have different musical tastes, follow different religions, have different occupations, hobbies, and fashion sense.
