Long Island

Depending on where you live it's 20 minutes - 1 hour from NYC, it has awesome beaches with sexy mammas, great place to visit, yes, we are NEW YORKERS, some of the inhabitants sound like they are from Brooklyn, some do not. People from long island don't all pronounce Long Island with a strange accent. We love real food, we love fashion. Some celebrities live on long island and some have moved since then. Overall a great place to live.

Long Island

Midwesteners:
If you ever meet someone from "long island" or "the island", do NOT let them lead you to believe that they are from "the city". Long Island is an outlying suburban area of NY, dont be fooled into believing they live in a cool, hip, "gangsta" high-crime urban area. LI is rural and in the middle of nowhere, it's like this rich little pussy town with lots of dirtyass beaches. THe people are snobs and think they are from the city just because they lived in Floral Park queens until they were 2.
Long Island is a sterile land. It's a joke i laugh when i have to go out there from the city, all the stupid japs and wannabe tough guys from gay upstate places like huntington (that's like 3 hrs from the city)

Long Island

"upstate" has nothing to do with "north". It is a colloquialism for New York State outside of the city
Upstate Illinois actually refers to SOUTHERN Illinois because Chicago is up north.

Long Island

Long Island is an island easy of New York City. We have the north and south shore. North tends to be richer whereas the South shore tends to be poorer. I am from the North Shore and I live in a beautiful house in a beautiful place that I wouldn't trade for anything. The cost of living on LI is extremely high but it's so worth it. There is always a beach nearby which is great. And we can't forget about the famous Hamptons. The Hamptons consist of very high end real estate and New York's elite. I personally own 2 houses in the Hamptons. One is located in Southampton - where the old money is. And the other is located in East Hampton. Both towns are absolutely stunning and I will say this straight out - the truth is that yes, Long Island does have a ton of wealthy people and a lot of towns are very rich and glitzy. I mean who wouldn't want to live in a place like Long Island. I particularly love the Hamptons because that is our summer vacation spot. During the summer the Hamptons are flooded with Upper-East Siders of NYC. I can definitely say that a lot of Long Islander's are Upper-East Siders that live in a beautiful place rather than the city. (I love the city too) We also own a house in Florida, and I have to say that nothing compares to the glamourous and wealthy lifestyle of a Long Islander.
"You're from Long Island?"
"Yes I am"
"You must be rich!"

Long Island

Fuck me. Honestly, like why the hell did lil peep have to die. That’s all we got on this “Long Island”. Who the hell cares about Kevin James in his fake action movies. Dude, wtf was Paul Blart, mall cop. I mean the dudes funny af, but his tits are flopping around every time he runs. But anyway, Long Island isn’t part of the city. There are some burrows like Brooklyn, and Queens. Notice there I used the Oxford comma. See I’m not a dumbass, and not of us really are. Well, there’s always gonna be that one kid. But anyways from Nassau to Suffolk county is pretty much Long Island. I have a friend who used to live in Brooklyn and he said that it’s a lot different here. He Sayville shitheads have no idea what it’s like outside of here. He also lets me use the n word as well.
Dude who lives out of ny, “where do u live”.
Dude 2, “Long Island”.
Dude 1, “so u must have it tuff”.
Dude 2, “yea I guess when u live in a $500,000 ranch a block away from the water, yea I guess ur right”.
