The act of a dog barking and a human then inserts their hand into the dogs said mouth. The dog while barking is now biting the humans hand.

Our neighbor suffered bark bite while playing with our dog who was barking at them. She put her hand in our dogs mouth while he was barking which caused a bite. She suffered from bark bite.

bite and bake to gold

to "bite and bake to gold" is to cut corners and expect everything to turn out well. For example, when baking bread, you can eat ("bite") some of the bread dough, but still bake it "to gold" (golden brown) and having eaten it doesn't matter. usually people use this negatively- i.e."it's not something you can bite and bake to gold"- to essentially mean "don't cut corners".

"Hey, Dr. Bam, do you think I have to sanitize this scalpel?"
"Obviously you do, surgery isn't something you can just bite and bake to gold."

What lobster parents say when they take a small nip out of their youngsters' tails so that if a lobsterman catches the lobsters sometime later, he has to throw them back.
