To defend a mediocre artwork by explaining what it's "really" about, often using obscurantist language and references to other, better, artists. Named after Andy Warhol, an American pop artist and frequent defense shield for lazy, unimaginative and derivative artists.

Basically it means the same thing as pulling a 'disappearing act'.
It all started out from the movie Twilight and E.C. stands for Edward Cullen Character. When you pull an E.C., you have a tendency to disappear from time to time. Edward Cullen disappeared on numerous occasions throughout the movie.
