some people use it to create a server. a server is like creating a new community and there are 6.7 million active servers.
the otherside servers are the dead servers which has a really low member count or either 0 (most private or testing purposes)

as i forgot to say that discord is also popular with bots there are many bots around 1m i think .the popular bots are

till now i use discord alot since am a moderator for small community

me: Also be sure to read the rules you must do or the moderators will not forgive. they can give you a punishment. like ban from the server (unable to join until you get unbanned by a mod) or kick(getting kicked from the server will force you to leave but you can still rejoin) or mute(in the past bots were having a mute system which gives a mute role to preveant the user from ever typing again. nowdays we have a timeout feature by discord which completely mutes the user from all channles unlike voice channel or stage channel)
