when you take a sharp object like a knife or peice of glass or whatever and cut yourself, usually breaking the skin.

i'm the 'emo kid' at school. im not seriously depressed, and i've never cut myself before. but i have thought about it. my friends tease me abou being emo, and i know they're jokeing, but it hurts.
cutting is a serious thing. one of my friends cuts. onc you start, you really cant stop.
