This can also pertain to their physical look, as it may have a particular style that cannot be found in any other parts of the world, but this also might be just because you found them in Manhattan.

The Manhattan Project was an effort to create an atomic weapon. Many scientists involved regretted their efforts immensely when Hiroshima and Nagasaki disappeared.
