gallows humor

Sense of humor that arises from stressful, traumatic or life-threatening situations where death seems to be an inevitability. Different from black humor in that comments of this sort are made by the person/persons affected (i.e. about to die).

Emissary: We will block out the sun with our arrows.
Spartan (gallows humor here): Then we will fight in the shade.

A term used for outdated, unfunny, ‘le random XD’ humor. Band kids aren’t funny. If you call them out on it they begin to melt.

Humor that is made up of intentionally offensive ironic jokes that are told/posted for the shock value and/or the facetiousness of the subject. Used mostly by teenagers on reddit or 4chan. Not usually intended to be taken literally.

9/11 jokes are a good example of edgy humor.

These 21st Century Humor memes are absolute cancer.
