sneaker wave

A random wave at the beach, most commonly on the U.S. Northern Pacific Coast, that comes to shore much farther and higher than any of the other recent waves. They aren't noticeable beforehand from shore and "sneak" up on people unexpectedly, many times causing people to be pushed over, or even swept out to sea.

The sneaker wave at Thor's Well, Cape Perpetua, Oregon, was deadly as it swept to sea the unsuspecting photographer who had chosen to ignore the signs warning of impending danger.

Wave Tissue

Blowing your nose as a large wave crashes over you, therefore eliminating snot/boogers in a discreet way. Commonly used by those too lazy to just get out of the water and find a tissue.

While I was on a date with Cameron I could tell my nose was about to drip. Rather than gross him out I quickly used the Wave Tissue!

First the media said a second wave was coming in the fall. Then they said the United States had already begun a third wave. At some point, they just start saying another wave. They must think it's hilarious.

If it's still the second wave, the third wave hasn't begun yet. Some people do pay attention.
